Blackpool boss Simon Grayson felt his side had deserved to take something from a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion.
The Tangerines led 1-0 with nine minutes to play at Bloomfield Road, before being undone by a late Baggies onslaught.
Grayson said: "I feel somewhat devastated. We played really well against a side which has been put together in a much more expensive manner than ours.
"In the first half we had the chances, but needed to take more than one of them to be really safe.
"You always felt with West Brom's ability to rotate five different strikers in the game that they were never going to be put off by a one-goal margin.
"Having Kevin Phillips up your sleeve is the sort of bonus any manager wants.
"It is my job to try and lift my team before our next match. I don't believe the players are down, but just a bit confused about a strange end to a strange game."
