Grayson: Players passed test

Grayson: Players passed test
Tuesday Jan 30 2007 09:52

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson believes his players showed at the weekend that they could hold their own with Championship stars.

The Seasiders, who are making a strong challenge to win promotion from League One this term, came from behind to draw 1-1 with Norwich City in the FA Cup fourth round clash at Bloomfield Road.

If Blackpool win the replay at Carrow Road, they face a fifth round encounter with Chelsea, but Grayson was just pleased with his players' display at the weekend.

"It's testing for the club in general, but the players tested themselves against Championship players, who have played in the Premiership," he said.

"None of our players can have any disappointment with the way they performed. They were excellent."
