Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has promised the club's fans that he is close to bringing at least two new players to the club.
There has been little transfer activity at Bloomfield Road since the Seasiders clinched promotion to the Championship thanks to their play-off success in May, but Grayson insists that is all about to change.
"It's frustrating for the fans that nothing much has happened so far, but there's been a lot of groundwork put in over the last few weeks," Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette.
"I had meetings with two players on Friday, and I'm hoping that they'll soon be Blackpool players, and we have bids in for three players and we're waiting back for answers from the clubs.
"If nothing happens with any of those, then we have other targets lined up, but I'm very hopeful that by the time we report back for training on Thursday we'll have a couple of players in.
"We have three bids for players who are English and we've made a bid for a foreign player and we're waiting for an answer, though I'm not sure that will happen.
"Things will happen, but I have to be patient and the fans have to be patient."
