Euell ready for crunch period

Blackpool striker Jason Euell has declared that the festive period could prove vital for the Seasiders this term.

With games against Derby County at Pride Park on Boxing Day and a home clash with Sheffield Wednesday at home two days later, two wins would see Ian Holloway's men consolidate their play-off charge.

The 32-year-old former Wimbledon, Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough man has seen it all through his career, and he believes the next few weeks could be crucial if they are to succeed this term.

Speaking to The Gazette, he said: "This is the crunch period.

"We're aiming high and we know that what happens in the next six to eight weeks will define our season.

"If we are up where we want to be, in and around the play-off area, then
we'll be in a great position heading into the final stages of the season."
