Norwich City have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Blackpool's Rob Edwards on loan. The 28-year-old centre-half has joined until 24 May and is available for Tuesday's visit of Doncaster, but Blackpool can recall him after 28 days. [LNB]He has played only four times for the Seasiders this season. [LNB]"Every footballer wants to play at the end of the day and the manager has brought me in after a few injuries to the squad," he told the club website. [LNB]"There's already two centre-halves in Zak Whitbread and Elliott Ward who did really well at the weekend and hopefully I can push them and give it a real go." [LNB]With first choice defender Leon Barnett sidelined for the rest of the season, Canaries boss Paul Lambert had stated his intention to make a signing in the loan market. [LNB]"He's got experience and has seen it and done it with Blackpool last year, and he'll be a big asset in the 14 games remaining this season," said Lambert. [LNB]Edwards started his career at Aston Villa and made eight Premier League appearances before switching to West Midlands rivals Wolves. [LNB]In August 2008 he joined Blackpool, where he has played 68 times, including 21 league games en route to last season's Championship play-off final victory.
