Eardley praises strength

Blackpool defender Neal Eardley is pleased that the squad is nicely taking shape following successive home victories against Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield United.

The right-back was one of seven changes to the team that beat Plymouth on Saturday for Tuesday's success and he believes the competition is a big reason why they are up at the top of the Championship this term.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "We've got strength in depth.

"It's about the squad here at the moment and the lads that are on the pitch know that they've got to be on the ball.

"If they're not then we've got players on the bench and players even sat in the stand that can come in and do a job."
