Eardley wants Blackpool to keep attacking

Neal Eardley has promised Blackpool will continue to attack their Barclays Premier League rivals, no matter what their reputation.

The Seasiders' fine start to their first top-flight season in 39 years continued on Saturday as they held Everton to a 2-2 draw at Bloomfield Road.

Eardley, who marked his 22nd birthday by opening the scoring with a stunning free-kick, said: "We came into this league wanting to attack teams and just do things the way we do. It's paying off for us at the moment. I think we're hungry to win games no matter what."

He added: "We have got a great set of lads here - not just the players, the staff as well.

"We go into these games together and I think that is why we are doing so well.

"No matter what the circumstance, we are always hungry to win games."

Eardley struck after just 10 minutes as he brilliantly bent the ball around the Everton wall from 25 yards.

Yet in a thrilling end-to-end encounter, the Merseysiders responded immediately as Tim Cahill headed his 50th Premier League goal.

Eardley's Wales team-mate David Vaughan put Blackpool back in front early in the second half but again the visitors replied with a quick equaliser as former Blackpool loanee Seamus Coleman struck.

Eardley said: "We see that as a good point, we knew Everton were going to be strong. Over the 90 minutes I would say that was a fair reflection of the game, but that was a point gained rather than two lost."
