Eardley hails strength in depth

Ian Holloway rang the changes to the team that beat Plymouth at the weekend and his tactics paid off as they saw off Sheffield United 3-0 on Tuesday. The Seasiders are now fifth in the table and Eardley believes that is down to quality throughout the squad. "We've got strength in depth," he told the club's official website. "The gaffer keeps banging on about how strong the squad is and he's right. "It's about the squad here at the moment and the lads that are on the pitch know that they've got to be on the ball. If they're not then we've got players on the bench and players even sat in the stand that can come in and do a job. "Everyone's got to be on their game and I think that's what's keeping everyone on their toes, and that's why we're playing so well."
