Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has allowed promising defender Phil Doughty to join Conference North side Barrow on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has been a regular in the reserves this season but has not featured for the League One side's first team since November 2004.
Doughty made history when he became the youngest Seasiders player to feature in the FA Cup. Aged 16, he came on as a substitute in the 3-1 second round win against Torquay United in December 2002.
Grayson said of the move: "This will give Phil some good experience.
"The Conference North is a good strong division and Phil will benefit more from playing in their first team than he will playing in the last few reserve games with us.
"Like all our players who are out on loan we will monitor his progress and take it from there."
