Dickov happy to defy critics

Veteran striker Paul Dickov is delighted to have proved many of his doubters wrong during his successful loan spell with Blackpool.

The 35-year-old has found the net five times in five games for the Seasiders since moving to Bloomfield Road from Manchester City last month.

He said: "It's been a new lease of life joining Blackpool and it's great for me.

"I know people go on about my age and I know before I came here there were a lot of clubs that looked at me and maybe thought my legs had gone.

"I like to think I'm proving quite a few people wrong about that.

"I'm loving it here. I'm getting chances, the lads are creating chances for me and thankfully they're going in the back of the net."
