Frustrated Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has revealed that seven players have turned down the chance to move to Bloomfield Road this week.
The Seasiders have been involved in very little transfer activity since securing promotion via the play-offs in May, but Holloway says it is not for the want of trying.
Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson and Swansea City defender Angel Rangel are believed to have rejected moves to Blackpool this week while Holloway has also failed to lure DJ Campbell and Stephen Dobbie back to the club.
Holloway said: "All we want is to try to bring the right people to this football club to help us move forward and that is proving so, so difficult. I cannot tell you (how difficult) it is.
"It was amazing that we won promotion and I thought the lads were superb. Unfortunately, two or three of the lads who helped us do it (Campbell, Dobbie and Seamus Coleman) aren't here now.
"I've spent most of the summer trying to buy them and I can't. We offered the money their clubs wanted for them and they still turned us down."
One player who does look certain to join the club is Israel international Dekel Keinan who is expected to complete his transfer later this week.
