Defender vows to return stronger

The centre-back was left out of the side following his return from a knee injury and, although he feels that was the right decision, he is determined to win his place back. He told the Blackpool Gazette: "From Tony and Steve's [Thompson] point of view I think they wanted to give me a bit of a kick up the backside. "I don't think they felt I was playing as well as I should have. That is fair enough and I'll hold my hands up and say I probably wasn't. "I know they expect me to come back a bigger and better player and I will. I don't feel like I've got things to prove to Tony and Thommo. I've been here three years now and they know me as a player better than anyone. "I've played 30 games this season which is more than most in the squad so I can't really complain. I need to make sure I come back 100 per cent fit and when called upon - and hopefully I will be - make sure I play well and help us get the results we need."
