Cathcart: We stunned ourselves
Craig Cathcart admitted the Blackpool players surprised themselves in their 4-0 thrashing of Wigan as they began life in the Barclays Premier League in exceptional fashion.
Blackpool produced the shock result of the day as they demolished Wigan at the DW Stadium to briefly go top of the table.
"It couldn't have gone any better, we've won 4-0, got the three points and we go on to the Arsenal game," Cathcart told the club's official website.
"Even the players didn't expect it to go that well. It's one of those things where everything went for us on the day, to score four goals and to keep a clean sheet as well.
"It's massive, particularly for those just coming into the team and just getting to know each other so hopefully we can carry it on."
