Campbell ready to contribute

Blackpool striker DJ Campbell is eager to make up for lost time and has declared himself ready to score the goals that will help keep the club in the Barclays Premier League this season. Having served a three-match suspension following his red card against Wolves in February, Campbell played his first game for six weeks on Sunday when the Seasiders faced Arsenal at Bloomfield Road. While the 29-year-old was banned, Blackpool went down 3-1 at home to Chelsea, drew 2-2 at Blackburn and were defeated 3-0 at Fulham. A 3-1 loss to the Gunners means Ian Holloway's side now have only one win in their last 12 matches and are just a point above the relegation zone with six fixtures remaining. Campbell has nine goals for Blackpool this term and his return to action after an enforced period of rest could prove vital to their survival chances. The former Birmingham player finds it difficult to take any positives from his suspension and admits he is troubled by thoughts of what might have been, but he is vowing to make amends now he is back in the team. Asked if he thought he might feel the benefit in the run-in of having had six weeks out, Campbell told Press Association Sport: "No, because I just love playing football. "I want to be playing in every game and obviously I'll probably be fresher, but maybe if I had been playing in the three games I've missed we might have got some better results in them. I don't like to look into that too much because it would do my head in. But that's over now, I'm back and we have to try to do the best we can to keep this club in the league."
