Burgess pleased with new deal

Blackpool striker Ben Burgess has penned a new contract that will keep him at Bloomfield Road until the end of next season.

The former Stockport County and Hull City forward also has an option for a further 12 months.

He told the club's official website: "I'm pleased to have got it sorted. I wanted to stay and I wanted to get it sorted a while ago.

"I want to stay and see if they ever build that other stand!

"We have a baby on the way and I wanted my future sorting. I'm happy here. I think I've done well for the club and the club have always done well for me. I enjoy it here and I always wanted to stay."

The 27-year-old has found the net 21 times in 97 first-team appearances for the club.
