Blinkhorn ends Shrimps stay

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has decided to recall Matthew Blinkhorn from his successful loan spell at Conference side Morecambe.

The 22-year-old has scored eight goals in 12 appearances for the Shrimps as Sammy McIlroy's side bid to win a place in the end-of-season play-offs.

"It's a blow for us," admitted McIlroy.

"But at the end of the day Matty is Blackpool's player. I spoke to Simon Grayson on Thursday night and he said he had a few injuries and needed Matty back.

"The lad is disappointed as he was enjoying his time here and was doing very well for us."
