Skipper Danny Pugh boosts Blackpool

Blackpool skipper Danny Pugh has handed manager Gary Bowyer a boost after returning to training ahead of the Sky Bet League Two clash with Doncaster.

The midfielder has been sidelined with heavy bone bruising to his ankle and provided he shows no ill-effects, could be back in contention this weekend.

Goalkeeper Dean Lyness missed last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Accrington with an ankle ligament injury and replacement Sam Slocombe is set to retain his place.

The Seasiders are currently just two points clear of the drop zone after winning one of their last seven league games.

Doncaster will again be without Andy Williams as the striker has been ruled out for eight weeks due to an ankle injury.

Williams took a hefty knock to his ankle while scoring Rovers' late winner in the recent home win against Barnet and scans have confirmed ligament damage.

Manager Darren Ferguson has no new injury or suspension problems after last Saturday's 1-0 win against Colchester which kept his side second in the table.

Defender Mathieu Baudry continues to push for his first league start after stepping off the bench again last week, but Craig Alcock (ankle), Gary McSheffrey (groin), Luke McCullough, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair (both knee) and Mitchell Lund (kidney) all remain sidelined.
