Seasiders begin life after Ince

Managerless Blackpool will again be without Gary MacKenzie and Ricardo Fuller as they look to arrest their alarming slide at home to Doncaster.

Boss Paul Ince and his assistants Alex Rae and Steve Thompson were sacked this week following a run of nine defeats in 10 games, and former Scotland captain Barry Ferguson has been handed the reins on a temporary basis this weekend.

He must do without an experienced duo, though, with centre-back MacKenzie and striker Fuller set for a month on the sidelines although midfielder David Perkins, signed prior to Ince's departure, could make his debut following his arrival from Barnsley.

Bobby Grant is again out because of a foot injury, while fellow forward Tom Barkhuizen is out for the forseeable future after fracturing his collarbone, but Paul's son Thomas, is expected to play despite continued speculation about his future.

Billy Sharp will be added to the Doncaster squad.

Former Rovers striker Sharp this week rejoined the club on loan from Southampton, presenting manager Paul Dickov with a selection quandary following the 3-0 home win over Wigan last Saturday.

"How we played against Wigan last week was our most complete performance all season so it would be difficult to leave anybody out," said Dickov, who is looking to extend full-back Enda Stevens' loan spell from Aston Villa. "However, on the other side of that we have a player of the quality of Billy Sharp coming in so it's a nice problem to have."

Rob Jones has resumed training after three months out with a neck problem but the defender will need at least one reserve-team game before he is considered again by Dickov.
