Ferguson boost for Seasiders

Blackpool welcome back experienced midfielder Barry Ferguson for the all-Lancashire npower Championship clash against Burnley at Bloomfield Road.

Ferguson collected two bookings before half-time in the Seasiders' last home game against Crystal Palace, where his team-mates held out for Matt Phillips to fire a late winner.

The former Scotland international is likely to be a straight replacement for Isaiah Osbourne, who begins a three-match ban after having his appeal to overturn last weekend's red card in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest rejected.

Gary MacKenzie is set to resume duties at centre-back having suffered a blow to the head at the City Ground that left him complaining of double vision.

The on-loan MK Dons defender is back in training alongside Gary Taylor-Fletcher (hamstring) but this game is expected to come too soon for the long-serving forward.

Burnley could be boosted by the return of defender Ben Mee.

Mee, who endured an lengthy period on the sidelines earlier this year with medial ligament damage, suffered a further knock to his knee in the 1-1 Easter Monday draw with Nottingham Forest.

The former Manchester City youth-team captain was returning from a one-game suspension on that occasion following a derby-day red card against Blackburn and he should now be fit to come back once more.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche has no new injury worries after midfielder Dean Marney played 90 minutes on his return from a calf injury in last weekend's 3-1 triumph over Bristol City, although experienced defender Michael Duff remains out with a similar complaint.
