Danny Philliskirk set to miss out for Blackpool

Blackpool striker Danny Philliskirk is a major doubt for Tuesday night's EFL Cup first-round clash with Bolton.

Philliskirk limped out of Saturday's 2-0 League Two victory over Exeter with just 12 minutes played after damaging an ankle when he collided with a team-mate and, while his condition is being assessed, manager Gary Bowyer has all but written him off for the cup tie.

Fellow forward Kyle Vassell, who scored his side's first goal against the Grecians, and midfielder Bright Osayi-Samuel were also forced off after the break through injury.

However, neither man is expected to be unavailable for the game at Bloomfield Road as Bowyer considers his options after handing seven men debuts at the weekend.

Bolton will be without Darren Pratley, who is out for two months after fracturing his leg in the 1-0 victory over Sheffield United at the weekend.

Manager Phil Parkinson is likely to opt for either Mark Davies or Liam Trotter to fill the subsequent midfield vacancy.

Striker Jamie Proctor overcame a groin problem to feature from the bench at the weekend and will challenge Gary Madine for a starting spot.

Forward Zach Clough missed the weekend win with a hamstring problem and faces a race to be fit, but defender Dorian Dervite (knee) is unlikely to feature.
