Blackpool rearrange Owls clash

The Seasiders had explored the possibility of staging the game on Saturday, January 23 as both teams are out of the FA Cup and have no scheduled match that weekend.[LNB]However, neighbours Preston are at home to Chelsea that day and, following discussions between the Football League and Lancashire police, Blackpool's match with the Owls will definitely take place on January 19.[LNB]Blackpool club secretary Matt Williams said: "We have had lengthy conversations with the local police regarding the possibility of switching the Sheffield Wednesday game to the weekend of the fourth round of the FA Cup.[LNB]"But due to Preston's FA Cup tie with Chelsea and the resources required to cover both games, it has been agreed that the game with Sheffield Wednesday should remain on the Tuesday night.[LNB]"We did explore the possibility of playing the game on the Friday night but again concerns were expressed by the police and as a result we have agreed to keep the game on the Tuesday night."[LNB]Williams said Blackpool's home game against Watford, scheduled for Tuesday, January 26, could possibly be brought forward to January 23, adding: "As soon as we have a decision from Watford we will let our supporters know."[LNB][LNB]
