Adam dismisses transfer link

Blackpool star Charlie Adam has insisted he can do very little about the media speculation linking him with a move away from the Championship club.

However, the former Rangers man will carry on and give his all for the Seasiders while rumours of his future continue to circulate.

With Middlesbrough reportedly poised to post a bid for his services, Adam has moved to quash the stories.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: "I can't stop the speculation linking me with other clubs but all l I'm concentrating on is getting Blackpool as high up this league as possible.

"It was flattering to be mentioned with Middlesbrough and (manager) Gordon (Strachan) because I scored against his Celtic team at Rangers.

"Clearly, he wants players he knows and can trust but I tried not to let it affect me.

"The Premiership is a fantastic league with some of the best players in the world. Hopefully that will be in the future but I'm not naive enough to take things for granted.

"But I'd like to think my form now proves I could play at that level."
