20 Premier League players to watch - No 15 Charlie Adam
Football.co.uk's rundown of the 20 Premier League players to watch this season continues, with Blackpool's Charlie Adam under the spotlight.
Name: Charles Graham Adam
Born in Dundee, Scotland in 1985, Charles Graham Adam joined Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers at the age of 17.
He made his first team debut in 2004, a year after joining the club, but was then immediately loaned out to Ross County in order to get regular football.
After spending a year with the Division One side, he spent the following season on loan at St Mirren, making 29 appearances and scoring five goals.
He returned to his parent club that summer and began to establish himself in the first team under manager Paul Le Guen. He was voted the club's Young Player of the year at the end of the 2006-07 season, having bagged an impressive thirteen goals from midfield.
After falling out of favour with Rnagers boss Walter Smith during the 2008-09 campaign, Adam was loaned to Championship side Blackpool. He impressed during his brief stint at the seaside club and was subsequently signed in a club record £500,000 deal during the summer.
In his first full season at the club, Adam captained Ian Holloway's surprise package to victory in the play-off final, having performed consistently well throughout the entire campaign.
He has been strongly linked with a move away from Bloomfield Road, with Everton said to be interested.
With great technical ability and an eye for goal, Adam will be vital to Blackpool's hopes of staying in the Premier League.
