Blackburn defender Zurab Khizanishvili has signed a new contract that will keep him at Ewood Park until the end of the 2010-11 campaign.
The Georgia international initially arrived at Rovers on a season-long loan arrangement from Rangers in the summer of 2005 before making his move permanent.
The 26-year-old has gone on to make 71 appearances for Mark Hughes' side, although he has spent most of the current campaign on the substitutes bench.
Meanwhile, Dutch striker Maceo Rigters is being linked with a loan move away from Rovers before the transfer window shuts next Thursday.
The 24-year-old, who has failed to score in six appearances for the club since his move from NAC Breda last summer, is believed to be close to sealing a temporary switch to Germany.
