Warnock happy with Rovers
21 Jul 2008 - 09:22:40
Blackburn Rovers defender Stephen Warnock insists he is happy to stay at Ewood Park following news that the club rejected a £2million offer for his services.
Warnock, 26, is believed to have been targeted by Newcastle United, but last week chairman John Williams revealed he had turned down an offer for the former Liverpool youngster.
The recently-capped England international has been with Rovers for 18 months and claims he is not looking to move on.
Warnock, who won his first cap in June's friendly against Trinidad & Tobago, is excited by the arrival of Paul Ince as the club's new manager.
"We are a club that is moving forward and we are all looking forward to the new era under the new manager," he told the club's official website.
"Last season, even though we finished seventh, it was still a bit of a disappointment to the lads as we feel that we can finish higher than that.
"So anything lower than seventh position again will be a disappointing season for us."
