Warnock gunning for United
15 Apr 2008 - 12:17:59
Blackburn Rovers defender Stephen Warnock is hoping to spoil Manchester United's title party when they host the leaders at Ewood Park on Saturday evening.
United moved closer to the Premier League title after Chelsea dropped two points with Monday's 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic.
But former Liverpool full-back Warnock has warned Sir Alex Ferguson's side not to expect an easy ride when they made the short trip to Ewood Park at the weekend.
Warnock claims his team-mates have a point to prove after they themselves were brushed aside 3-1 by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
"They won't fancy coming to our place and I think once we know we've got our tails up and we're disappointed with ourselves, we usually bounce back stronger and hopefully we'll do that on Saturday," he told the club's official website.
"Anyone can beat anyone in this league and every one knows that.
"Results will go our way and results will probably go against us for the next couple of games and we understand that. All we can do is do our job and hopefully that will be enough.
"We've got four games left and we need to get results out of them.
"We need as many points as we can get and we want to finish as high as we can in the league. We need to set ourselves a benchmark for next year to beat."
