Blackburn Rovers left-back Stephen Warnock has angrily denied having handed in a transfer request at Ewood Park.
The 26-year-old former Liverpool defender had been reported to have asked for a move away from Rovers just a couple of months after making his senior England debut.
However, Warnock insists that such rumours have no basis in fact, telling the club's official website: "The reports are rubbish, I have not handed in a transfer request."
Meanwhile, Rovers are believed to have entered the bidding to sign Valencia's Serbia striker, Nikola Zigic, who is also a target for Stoke City.
The Spanish club's vice-president Fernando Gomez told Sky Sports: "We were looking at a quick sale, but now the situation has changed.
"It is true another English club has asked about the player, but Valencia wants a sale and not a loan."
