Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has hinted that new signing Johann Vogel may have to wait before making his first-team debut for the club.
The 31-year-old Switzerland international signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Rovers last week and his international clearance has now been granted.
"By all accounts the clearance has come through now so we're delighted with that," Hughes told the club's official website.
"So he's available for selection, he's trained well as he always has done since he walked through the door in fairness.
"So he may well come into the equation. However, he hasn't had any games which is a little bit of concern, but if I was to involve him he won't let us down."
Vogel was a free agent after being released by Real Betis following an acrimonious dispute with the Spanish club which ended in December.
The former PSV Eindhoven and AC Milan midfielder had been linked with a move to Everton before opting to take up the offer a trial at Blackburn.
