Carlos Villanueva has denied making negative comments about manager Paul Ince and has hit out at reports suggesting he is unhappy at Blackburn Rovers.
The on-loan Chile international was quoted in a South American newspaper as saying Ince was 'annoying' and that he spent the majority of his time in England 'alone in his apartment eating frozen food'.
But the 22-year-old now claims he was misquoted and has already spoken to Ince in a bid to clear the air.
"What was reported is simply not true. I feel very let down," he told the club's official website. "I am very happy at Blackburn and everything about my move is working out well.
"Blackburn is a special club and the people have helped me settle in by assisting me to find somewhere to live and organising English lessons for me.
"That is why I am so disappointed with the reports. I have spoken to the manager to explain and he understands."
Villanueva has made four appearances since arriving at Ewood Park on a season-long deal from Audax Italiano during the summer.
