Blackburn Rovers may be without key defender Andy Todd for Wednesday's Premiership clash against rock-bottom Sunderland at Ewood Park.
The club captain picked up a knee injury in the 2-0 Boxing Day victory against Middlesbrough and will have the problem assessed on Tuesday.
"He got a bang on the inside of his knee and it blew up quite alarmingly, so that's a little bit of a concern," Rovers boss Mark Hughes told the club's official website.
"It might be just a case of fluid around the joint. Hopefully it will settle down and he'll be okay for Wednesday but you have to say he's a doubt at this moment.
"We'll have a look at the squad and make sure everyone is fit and well.
"Undoubtedly we'll have to make changes, but it's important that we capitalise on the result against Middlesbrough.
"It would be a real shame for us having put in a good performance at the Riverside and then not capitalise on Wednesday, so that's our focus now."
