Thigh injury sidelines Grella

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Vince Grella has suffered yet another injury setback, with a thigh problem likely to see him sidelined for at least a fortnight.

The 30-year-old Australia international has been plagued by problems since moving to England in the summer of 2008, having made just 31 appearances for the Ewood Park club to date.

His latest setback came in the closing minutes of the 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur, meaning that Grella will miss his side's Christmas and New Year fixtures.

Manager Sam Allardyce told the club's official website: "Vince will be missing over the festive period, because unfortunately he did a thigh muscle tear right at the end of the Tottenham game.

"He's had a few injuries, but when he has played he has looked very good, probably played the best since he's been here."
