Steve Kean signs new contract at Blackburn

Under-fire Blackburn boss Steve Kean has signed a new contract, despite the ongoing protests by fans against his reign. Rovers' Indian owners Venky's have backed their man, ignoring a large number of their own supporters, who even shelled out to have a plane fly over Ewood Park last weekend trailing a banner saying 'Steve Kean out'. Rovers supporters took that step after banners against Kean were banned from the ground for Blackburn's match against Chelsea after weeks of protests against the Scot. Point to make: Steve Kean's Blackburn side are languishing in the bottom three Kean's men were beaten 1-0 by the Blues, a defeat that leaves them second-bottom of the Barclays Premier League with just six points from 11 games. Rovers have won only seven out of 33 games since the 44-year-old replaced Sam Allardyce as boss last December.
