Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage is hoping to be fit enough to take a full part in pre-season training, having been sidelined since mid-January with a broken leg.
The 32-year-old has started jogging in the last couple of weeks and has targeted a Rovers return in time for their Intertoto Cup campaign, which starts in July.
He told the Blackburn Citizen: "I want to be on the starting line for pre-season training on July 2. That's my goal.
"If I can do that then it will give me six weeks of intensive training before the season starts. During that time I want to try and play in as many games as I possibly can.
"I still feel some pain in my leg from time to time and I'm sure there will be plenty more ups and downs before I'm at the stage I want to be.
"But I've done two weeks of jogging now and I feel I've got a good chance of being ready for the start of pre-season training."
