    Samba sounds Burnley warning

    26 Mar 2010 - 12:34:45

Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba has warned local rivals Burnley not to expect any gifts in their Premier League clash on Sunday, despite his side all but guaranteed their position in the top-flight next term.

Rovers ground out a 2-1 midweek win against Birmingham City at Ewood Park, with David Dunn at the double, to move them 14 points clear of the relegation zone.

With Burnley firmly locked in the bottom three, a favourable result is essential with the season fast approaching its climax, but Samba wants to add further misery on the Clarets at their Turf Moor home.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "We will not start to coast now it looks like we are safe. Not at all. Don't expect us to go on holiday.

"We have a lot of games that are winnable and a lot of games that are important to the other teams in the division.

"We want to climb the table and finish as high as we can. So we will go into every game and compete fiercely.

"There is no way Burnley will be more motivated than us. Because it is an important local derby it is a good place for us to play next.

"The pressure is on them because they need wins to get out of trouble."
