Samba: Blackburn will survive
06 Mar 2009 - 15:37:22
Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba is confident the struggling club will secure enough points for Premier League survival.
Rovers slipped back into the relegation zone following Wednesday's goalless draw with Everton, but Samba believes Sam Allardyce's side have enough in their locker to pull clear of the bottom three during the closing weeks of the season.
"It is pretty tight at the moment, since last week the other results have not been in our favour," he told the club's official website.
"But we have to concentrate on ourselves, we have a game in hand and we have to get something out of this game.
"The league is really tight, just one win can take you five places up the table. We just have to concentrate now and the Fulham game (on March 11) will be a very important game for us.
"It is our game in hand and we hope we concentrate and that we go there with a real hunger.
"We have one week to get ready for the game at Fulham, we have to do the right things and we will get out of the bottom three.
"I think it will be a hard finish, we will do everything we can to get out.
"I think four or five wins will be enough for us and I am confident we can get them."
