Sam talks up derby chances
16 Oct 2009 - 11:37:24
Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has warned Burnley that he has 'good, fit and healthy squad' at his disposal ahead of Sunday's east Lancashire derby.
Rovers will lock horns with their near-neighbours for the first time in eight years at Ewood Park and their only injury absentee will be Australia midfielder Vince Grella after he picked up a thigh strain while away on international duty.
Allardyce will welcome back fit-again duo Chris Samba and Ryan Nelsen after they both missed the 6-2 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal before the international break.
"We've got a really good, fit and healthy squad other than Vince by the looks of it," he told the club's official website.
"There is some fatigue with some of the players who have played two games and some of the journeys they've had to entail.
"So it is about looking at Burnley and how they play and picking a team that can repeat the performance we produced against Aston Villa and to try and better it if possible."
