Sam stands firm over Roque
09 Jan 2009 - 12:09:20
Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce claims Roque Santa Cruz will only be leaving Ewood Park should Manchester City make an offer which 'blows them out of the water'.
City, who are managed by former Rovers boss Mark Hughes, have already seen two bids for the Paraguay striker rejected by Blackburn.
The second offer from the big-spending Citizens is believed to have topped £15million, but Allardyce claims he is in no rush to part company with the former Bayern Munich hitman.
"I can't second guess what Manchester City are going to do," said Allardyce.
"Whatever happens between now and next week, as time goes on in this usual transfer window of mayhem, we will wait and see.
"You never say never about anything because you never know what is around the corner when January is on the boil.
"At the end there is always going to be a price, but there is no price we are going to put on Roque's head.
"It is down to Man City to make the offer and blow us out of the water.
"Obviously, we simply want him to play for us and help us stay in the Premier League, which is the most important thing for me and this club."
Santa Cruz has scored 27 goals in 59 appearances since his arrival at Ewood Park in the summer of 2007 from Bayern Munich.
