Sam begins to look upwards
22 Feb 2010 - 08:42:22
Sam Allardyce claims Blackburn Rovers can now start to look upwards after Sunday's 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers moved them up to 12th place in the table.
Rovers piled on the misery for Bolton as they took their run of form to 13 points from 18 and left Wanderers with just one win in 11 games thanks to a comfortable at Ewood Park.
Rovers' ex-Bolton boss Sam Allardyce had goals from Niko Kalinic, Jason Roberts and Gael Givet to thank for his side's biggest win of the season.
"It was a fantastic day for us and a very important three points," said Allardyce.
"It's our biggest win of the season and four wins on the trot at Ewood Park.
"We're making everyone sit up and think what a game they're going to get here - and they certainly are."
Meanwhile, Allardyce is keeping his fingers crossed that an injury which forced captain Ryan Nelsen out of the action in the first half does not prove too serious.
He added: "Having only looked at it on the replay I'm hoping that he's twisted his ankle and not his knee.
"But he was holding its knee which was the big problem for me.
"I think it is his one where he's had surgery before, so it'll be 48 hours before we can tell and we'll keep our fingers crossed, not just for us but for him."
