    Sam agrees di Santo extension

    31 Dec 2009 - 08:50:10

Chelsea striker Franco di Santo has extended his loan stay with Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old moved to Ewood Park in August and has scored once in 15 appearances for Sam Allardyce's side so far this term.

The Argentinian will now also be eligible for Rovers in both the FA and Carling Cups.

Meanwhile, Senegal international El-Hadji Diouf hopes his goal in the 2-2 draw with Sunderland will help to reignite his season.

The 28-year-old, who has had to settle for a place on the substitute's bench for the last three matches, said: "The season is long. Sometimes you have good form, sometimes it's not like that. This time I don't have my best form.

"But the gaffer knows me very well. Maybe it's too cold. But hopefully that goal will help me for the future.

"Now I'm sure my best form can come again. The season is still young, I'm going to work hard on the training ground and start to play well again for my team."
