Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of veteran former Real Madrid full-back Michel Salgado. Salgado, 33, has joined Rovers on a free transfer after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract. The right-back was a free agent after being released by Real Madrid at the end of last season following 10 years at the Bernabeu. The 53-times capped Spain international will link-up with his new team-mates next week after receiving international clearance. Speaking earlier in the week, Salgado admitted he was excited about the possibility of playing in the Premier League. "This was the most interesting proposition in terms of sport," said the two-times Champions League winner. "I have always wanted to play in England."
