Rovers to cut prices

Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has confirmed that the club will announce a cut in season-ticket prices for the 2007-08 campaign later this week.
Rovers are one of several Premiership sides to have seen their attendances fall this season, and Williams is determined to arrest the slide by following local rivals Bolton Wanderers' example and reducing prices.
"We will announce our prices later this week - we are committed to making football affordable," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I think you will see a reduction.
"It is an expensive business assembling a squad. But another part of that equation is the atmosphere, and the 12th man - the atmosphere they can generate.
"We have seen a steady decline last three or four years.
"Fans are telling us that (prices are too high), we are listening to them.
"Most clubs will isolate fixtures and use them as promotional (matches). We want to bring back lapsed users.
"The difficulty is that once you fix prices, season-ticket holders are the lifeblood of the club. It's important as you go forward that you keep an eye on them."
Rovers reduced prices for last week's UEFA Cup clash with Bayer Leverkusen and were rewarded with a crowd in excess of 25,000.
