Rovers sweat on injured duo

Blackburn Rovers face an anxious wait to discover whether Morten Gamst Pedersen and Shabani Nonda will be fit to face West Ham at the weekend.

Rovers boss Mark Hughes is sweating on the fitness of the key duo after both picked up knocks in Wednesday's Carling Cup defeat by Chelsea.

"He (Nonda) has just come back from having an X-ray and that's clear, but he's got a very sore shin," Hughes told the club's official website.

"Hopefully we can get him back soon, but whether or not he will be available for Sunday is debatable.

"But Morten should be okay we hope. He twisted his ankle but he's walking around and hopefully that won't be too serious for us.

"That is the disappointment. We didn't want to lose any players from the squad."
