Blackburn Rovers are poised to complete the signing of Finnish striker Shefki Kuqi after opening talks with the Ipswich Town contract rebel.
The former Ewood Park trialist snubbed the offer of a two-year contract at Portman Road after setting his sights on a move to the Premiership.
Kuqi failed to earn a move to Rovers two years ago after being invited for a trial by former boss Graeme Souness, but is now set to secure a dream move to Lancashire.
Boss Mark Hughes is keen to add to his shot-shy forward line after flirting with relegation last season, and also remains hopeful of agreeing a deal with FC Porto for South Africa international Benni McCarthy.
