Rovers Have No Money Worries
Rovers' global advisor Shebby Singh is adamant that the club will have no reason to sell their best players at the end of the season, even if they are not promoted this time around. After last season's relegation, Rovers invested in 12 new players as they bid to get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. But that was never likely to happen under the guidance of Steve Kean and many predict that current manager Henning Berg will also struggle to turn the club's fortunes around, although it must be said that he has not yet had a fair chance at doing the job. But Berg does have the likes of Danny Murphy and Nuno Gomes who were brought in to add experience to the squad while Jordan Rhodes was signed for a club record £8m. But Rovers sit well down the table in 13th place at the moment and although they are only four points away from a playoff spot, when they came up against serious contenders for promotion, Cardiff City, they were beaten 4-1 on their own patch. And Bergs record boasts just one win from his eight games at the helm. But Singh has assured fans that should promotion not be achieved, the financial future of the club is looking good and there will be no bargain basement selling. "We are managing our finances really well. If we don't get promoted, we still will be able to sustain the team," Singh told BBC Radio Lancashire. "Financially, we are way better off than most clubs in the Championship."
