Blackburn Rovers are reportedly interested in bringing Bayern Munich forward Roque Santa Cruz to England.
The 25-year-old Paraguay international has made clear his desire to move on and says he is unlikely to stay in Germany, as he does not want to play against Bayern in the future.
He had said last week: "I do not want to stay in German football. It is a different mentality. It is not as attacking as other championships.
"Besides, I could not play against Bayern out of respect for its fans and the city."
That has alerted Rovers to Santa Cruz, who is also a reported target for Manchester City and Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Chairman John Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "We have been made aware of his availability by a number of agents.
"He's a player that Mark Hughes is aware of."
Santa Cruz has been with Bayern for nearly eight years, while he recently scored a hat-trick for his country against Colombia in the Copa America.
