Paul Dickov has left
Blackburn Rovers after rejecting the offer of a new two-year contract at Ewood Park.
The 33-year-old striker was also offered deals by Sheffield United and Everton but is expected to join his former club Manchester City.
Rovers chairman John Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "Paul has been released by the club after he decided not to accept our offer of a new contract.
"I don't think there was any problem with the terms we offered him, it was more of a football decision.
"We'd like to thank Paul for his efforts over the last two years, and we wish him all the best for the future."
Dickov scored 14 times in 50 Premiership outings for Rovers following his £150,000 move from Leicester City in June 2004, but slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of Craig Bellamy from Newcastle United last summer.
