Rovers back in for Dunn
17 Jan 2007 - 10:10:54
Birmingham City midfielder David Dunn is once again being linked with a return to his former club, Blackburn Rovers.
It had been thought that the 26-year-old was about to sign for Bolton Wanderers, and he had a medical at the Reebok Stadium, but Rovers now appear to have emerged as the favourites to clinch Dunn's signature.
A brief statement on Blackburn's official website read: "After agreeing a fee with Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers have this morning (Wednesday) been given permission to speak to David Dunn."
Dunn has endured an injury-ravaged spell at St Andrew's since moving to Steve Bruce's side from Rovers in 2003 and would welcome the chance to return to his hometown club.
He said last month: "I'm a Blackburn fan and always have been, so who knows, one day it might happen.
"I'd certainly have to consider it. All my family and friends are up there. The most important thing for me is my little girl, who lives up in the north, and that would make it a lot easier for me to see her."
Dunn has been restricted to only 54 starts for City in his spell at St Andrew's.
