Rovers agree Chimbonda fee

Skysports.com understands Tottenham and Blackburn have agreed a fee in excess of £2million for Pascal Chimbonda. The right-back has fallen out of favour during his second stint at White Hart Lane and is now behind Vedran Corluka, Alan Hutton and Kyle Naughton in Harry Redknapp's pecking order. Chimbonda made a surprise return to North London in the January transfer window after a brief stint at Sunderland, who he had only joined in the summer from Spurs. The player's agent, Willie McKay, is hopeful a deal can be concluded in the next few days. "We are in the process of sorting things out," he told skysports.com. "Pascal is travelling up to Blackburn and will hopefully undergo a medical tomorrow if everything is agreed." The Frenchman first moved to England from Bastia in 2005, with a successful two-year stint at Wigan earning him his first move to Tottenham. Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is in the market for defensive reinforcements as Stephen Warnock looks to be on his way out of Ewood Park for Aston Villa.
