Roque welcomes City link
14 Oct 2008 - 09:08:52
Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has welcomed reports which suggest he is being lined up again by Manchester City.
The Paraguay international was the subject of a failed £10million approach from City during the last transfer window.
Former Rovers and now Citizens boss Mark Hughes reportedly remains determined to sign Santa Cruz and could rekindle his interest in January.
Santa Cruz netted 23 goals in all competitions last season during a successful debut year in England but has now suggested that he would be interested in a move to Eastlands.
"Manchester City is a team that has a very important financial support that is getting prepared for winning the title," the striker told Paraguayan radio.
"I will keep on doing what I do at Blackburn but if the coach of Manchester City is interested in me I would like to join Robinho in that team.
"He is a wonderful player and I would like to play next to him."
