    Roque wants out of Rovers

    20 Dec 2008 - 11:26:27

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has admitted that he would like to leave Ewood Park to join a 'bigger' or more ambitious club.

The 27-year-old Paraguay international has been heavily linked with Manchester City in recent weeks and the South American is clearly unhappy with the position that his current club find themselves in.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I would really like to keep improving and performing better than I am doing right now.

"And if a better or an ambitious club come in and want to offer me the chance, I would like to take it.

"I am looking to again play in a big side that is in Europe and trying to win their league.

"I have to say the people here at Blackburn are fantastic. I am very happy with the fans, but I don't want to miss the chance of playing with a big side.

"I also understand the interests of Blackburn as well and they do not want to lose players.

"I want to watch out for myself, but I have to think of Blackburn. It is a very hard decision."

Santa Cruz netted 23 goals in his first season with Rovers, having moved to England from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2007.

However, he has scored only four times so far this term, having signed a new four-year contract with the Ewood Park club.
